the Ultimate Creamed Chipped Beef Cheese Ball

Ingredients:

  • 225 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 jar (about 70–80 g / 2.5 oz) dried chipped beef, rinsed, drained, and finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Optional Coating:

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Extra chopped chipped beef or parsley

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prep the beef:
    Rinse the chipped beef under cold water to reduce saltiness, pat dry, and chop finely.
  2. Mix the base:
    In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add sour cream and mix until creamy.
  3. Add flavor:
    Stir in cheddar cheese, chipped beef, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Shape:
    Scoop the mixture onto plastic wrap and form into a ball. Wrap tightly.
  5. Chill:
    Refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours (or overnight) to firm up and develop flavor.
  6. Coat (optional):
    Roll the chilled cheese ball in chopped nuts, herbs, or extra beef before serving.

  • Serve with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or raw veggies
  • Let sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before serving for easier spreading
