Southern 4-Ingredient Cucumber Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 large cucumber (thinly sliced)
  • 1 loaf soft white sandwich bread
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 packet dry Italian dressing mix

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the spread
In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the dry Italian dressing mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Slice the cucumber
Peel the cucumber (optional) and slice it very thin—almost translucent—for the best texture.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches
    • Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture onto each slice of bread.
    • Add a layer of cucumber slices on top.
    • Place another slice of bread on top to form a sandwich.
  4. Trim and serve
    • Cut off the crusts for a traditional Southern tea sandwich look.
    • Slice into halves or quarters (triangles or fingers work great).

💡 Tips

  • Chill the sandwiches for 15–20 minutes before serving for the best flavor.
  • Pat cucumber slices dry with a paper towel to prevent soggy bread.
  • For extra flair, add a sprinkle of fresh dill or cracked black pepper.
