Christmas Chaos Cake: A Show-Stopping Holiday Dessert

A rich, multi-layered cake loaded with holiday flavors—spiced cake, chocolate, caramel, crushed cookies, and colorful toppings. It’s called “chaos” because it’s intentionally messy, dramatic, and bursting with different elements.

🧾 Ingredients

For the cake (2–3 layers)

  • 2 ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg

For the frosting

  • 1 cup (225g) butter, softened
  • 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: red & green food coloring

Chaos fillings & toppings (mix and match!)

  • Crushed cookies (Oreos, gingerbread, speculoos)
  • Chocolate chips or chunks
  • Caramel sauce
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Holiday sprinkles
  • Crushed candy canes
  • Chopped nuts
  • Melted chocolate drizzle

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Bake the cake

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line cake pans.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk.
