Ingredients
- 2–3 lbs beef chuck roast or stew meat, cut into cubes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Place the beef cubes in the slow cooker.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- In a bowl, whisk together:
- BBQ sauce
- brown sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
- soy sauce
- minced garlic
- beef broth
- Pour the sauce over the beef and stir gently.
- Cook:
- Low: 7–8 hours
- High: 4–5 hours
- The beef should become tender and coated in a rich sauce.
Optional Additions
- Honey for sweetness
- Red pepper flakes for heat
- Onion slices or bell peppers
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or slider buns
Thickening the Sauce
If you want the sauce thicker:
- Mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water
- Stir into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes
