Layer 1 – Base
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped (or romaine for more flavor)

- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
Layer 3 – Beans
- 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) black beans or pinto beans, drained & rinsed
Layer 4 – Crunch
- 1–2 cups crushed tortilla chips or Doritos (adds extra flavor)
Layer 5 – Veggies
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- ½ cup red onion, finely chopped
Layer 6 – Creamy Layer
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- Optional: 1–2 tbsp taco seasoning mixed in
Layer 7 – Cheese & Extras
- 1–2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- Sliced black olives (optional)
- Chopped green onions
- Fresh cilantro (optional)
🥄 Instructions
- Cook the meat
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and a little water (per packet instructions). Let cool slightly. - Prepare creamy layer
In a bowl, mix sour cream and mayonnaise (and optional taco seasoning). - Layer the salad (use a large glass bowl or trifle dish for best presentation):
- Bottom: lettuce
- Add seasoned meat
- Sprinkle beans evenly
- Add crushed chips
- Scatter tomatoes and onion
- Spread creamy mixture evenly on top
- Finish with cheese, olives, and garnishes
- Chill (optional)
Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes before serving to let flavors blend. - Serve
