Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 lb processed cheese (like Velveeta), cubed
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 loaf party rye bread or cocktail bread slices
🍳 Instructions
- Cook the meat:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and sausage together until browned. Drain excess grease. - Add cheese & seasoning:
Lower the heat and add the cubed cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until everything melts into a thick, creamy mixture. - Assemble:
Spoon the mixture onto each slice of rye bread. - Bake:
Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 8–10 minutes, until bubbly and slightly crisp on the edges. - Serve hot:
These are best straight out of the oven!
🔥 Tips
- You can freeze them before baking—just add a couple extra minutes when cooking from frozen.
- Swap in spicy sausage if you want a kick.
- A sprinkle of red pepper flakes adds extra heat.
