Garlic Butter Steak and Potato Foil Packets

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into cubes
  • 3–4 medium potatoes, diced small
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme (or Italian seasoning)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat
    Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) or heat a grill.
  2. Prepare the garlic butter
    In a bowl, mix melted butter with minced garlic.
  3. Season ingredients
    In a large bowl, combine steak and potatoes.
    Add olive oil, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Toss well.
  4. Assemble foil packets
    • Divide the mixture onto sheets of aluminum foil
    • Drizzle garlic butter over each portion
    • Fold and seal the foil tightly
  5. Cook
    Oven:

    • Bake for 20–25 minutes
  6. Grill:
    • Cook over medium-high heat for about 15–20 minutes
  7. Serve
    • Carefully open packets (watch for steam!)
    • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired

Tips

  • Cut potatoes small so they cook faster
  • Add veggies like green beans or mushrooms
  • Use foil double-layered to avoid leaks

  • Prep: 10 minutes
  • Cook: 20–25 minutes
  • Total: ~30–35 minutes
