Breakfast pizza

Ingredients

For the dough (or use store-bought pizza dough)

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (not hot)
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

For the sauce base

  • 3 tbsp cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tbsp sour cream or yogurt
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • Pinch of salt & pepper

(Alternative: use tomato sauce if you prefer a classic pizza taste)

Toppings

  • 4–5 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese (optional but recommended)
  • ½ cup cooked breakfast meat (beef sausage, turkey, or chicken)
  • ½ cup sautéed vegetables (onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, spinach)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Optional extras

  • Fresh herbs (parsley or chives)
  • Chili flakes
  • Black olives

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the dough

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil.
  3. Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1 hour (until doubled in size).

2. Prepare toppings

  • Cook your meat and vegetables ahead of time.
  • Keep everything ready because breakfast pizza cooks fast once assembled.

3. Make the sauce

Mix:

  • Cream cheese
  • Sour cream/yogurt
  • Garlic
  • Salt & pepper

Spreadable and creamy—that’s what you want.

4. Assemble the pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (430°F).
  2. Roll out the dough into a circle or rectangle.
  3. Transfer to a baking tray or pizza stone.
  4. Spread the sauce evenly.
  5. Add cheese.
  6. Add meat and vegetables.
  7. Make small wells and crack eggs directly on top.

5. Bake

  • Bake for 10–15 minutes
  • Eggs should be set but yolks slightly runny (or cook longer if you prefer firm yolks)

6. Finish & serve

  • Drizzle olive oil
  • Add herbs or chili flakes
  • Slice and serve hot

🔥 Tips for best results

  • Pre-bake crust for 5 minutes if you want it extra crispy
  • Don’t overload toppings or the pizza gets soggy
  • Crack eggs gently so they stay whole

🥓 Variations

  • Mediterranean: olives, feta, spinach
  • Spicy: harissa + chili flakes
  • Vegetarian: mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini
  • Sweet-savory: add a drizzle of honey after baking
