Ingredients
- 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing included)
- 2 cups apples (peeled and diced – about 2 medium apples)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Custard mixture:
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prep
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
- Grease a baking dish (about 9×9 inch)
2. Cook the apples
- In a pan, melt butter over medium heat
- Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until soft and caramelized
- Stir in vanilla → set aside
3. Prepare cinnamon rolls
- Open the cans and cut each cinnamon roll into quarters
- Set icing aside (you’ll use it later)
4. Assemble
- Add cinnamon roll pieces to the baking dish
- Spread cooked apples evenly on top
5. Make custard
- Whisk together:
- eggs
- milk
- vanilla
- cinnamon
- Pour evenly over the mixture
6. Bake
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and set in the center
7. Finish
- Warm the icing slightly and drizzle over the bake
