Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1–2 tbsp milk or water
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or gruyère)
- ¼ cup cooked, chopped fillings (choose one or mix):
- mushrooms sautéed with garlic
- spinach (well-drained)
- caramelized onions
- diced cooked chicken or turkey
- crumbled feta or goat cheese
- Optional extras: herbs (thyme, parsley), sesame seeds, chili flakes
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Prepare the pastry
Lightly flour your surface and roll out the puff pastry slightly to smooth it. - Cut into squares
Slice into small squares (about 5–7 cm / 2–3 inches each). - Add fillings
Place a small amount of your chosen filling and cheese in the center of each square. Don’t overfill. - Shape them
- Fold into triangles, rectangles, or pinch corners to make little parcels.
- Press edges gently with a fork to seal.
- Egg wash
Beat the egg with milk or water and brush over each bite for a golden finish. - Optional topping
Sprinkle seeds, herbs, or spices on top. - Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. - Cool slightly & serve
Let them cool for a few minutes before serving—they’ll be hot inside.
