Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 200 g smoked sausage (sliced)
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 medium potatoes (diced)
- 1 can (400 g) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (400 g) baked beans (or kidney beans)
- 1 cup corn (fresh, frozen, or canned)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder (optional, for heat)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Brown the meat
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. - Add sausage & aromatics
Stir in sliced sausage, onion, and garlic. Cook for 3–4 minutes until fragrant. - Build the stew
Add potatoes, diced tomatoes (with juice), beans, corn, and beef broth. - Season
Stir in paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. - Simmer
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 25–30 minutes, until potatoes are tender. - Adjust & serve
Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.
Optional Add-Ons
- A pinch of cumin for extra depth
- Chopped fresh parsley or cilantro on top
- A dash of hot sauce if you like spice
- Serve with crusty bread or rice
