Apple Cinnamon Roll Bake

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing included)
  • 2 cups apples (peeled and diced – about 2 medium apples)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Custard mixture:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  • Grease a baking dish (about 9×9 inch)

2. Cook the apples

  • In a pan, melt butter over medium heat
  • Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg
  • Cook for 5–7 minutes until soft and caramelized
  • Stir in vanilla → set aside

3. Prepare cinnamon rolls

  • Open the cans and cut each cinnamon roll into quarters
  • Set icing aside (you’ll use it later)

4. Assemble

  • Add cinnamon roll pieces to the baking dish
  • Spread cooked apples evenly on top

5. Make custard

  • Whisk together:
    • eggs
    • milk
    • vanilla
    • cinnamon
  • Pour evenly over the mixture

6. Bake

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and set in the center

7. Finish

  • Warm the icing slightly and drizzle over the bake

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Serve warm with:
    • Vanilla ice cream
    • Whipped cream
    • Extra caramel drizzle

💡 Tips

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • Don’t skip cooking the apples → gives better flavor and texture
  • Cover with foil if it browns too quickly

  • Raisins
  • Cream cheese glaze instead of icing
