Easy Marinated Cheese Appetizer with Salami & Pickles
Ingredients
- 8 oz cheddar cheese, cubed
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cubed
- 4 oz salami, sliced and cut into quarters
- ½ cup pickles (sliced or small whole pickles)
Marinade
- ½ cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp red wine vinegar (or pickle juice for extra tang)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, vinegar (or pickle juice), Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Add the cubed cheddar, mozzarella, salami pieces, and pickles to the bowl.
- Gently toss until everything is well coated with the marinade.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best for maximum flavor). Stir once or twice if possible.
- Remove from the fridge 10–15 minutes before serving so the oil loosens up.
Serving Ideas
- Serve with toothpicks as a party appetizer
- Pair with crackers, crusty bread, or pretzels
- Add olives or cherry tomatoes for variation
