Crockpot Christmas Crack
This Crockpot Christmas Crack is one of the easiest holiday candies you’ll ever make — and one of the most addictive! A mix of peanuts, chocolate, and peanut butter melts together slowly in the slow cooker to create the perfect sweet-salty crunch. It’s great for gifting, parties, or keeping in the fridge for a quick treat all season long.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (about 900 g) salted peanuts (half dry roasted, half cocktail peanuts if possible)
- 1 bag (12 oz / 340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 bag (12 oz / 340 g) milk chocolate chips
- 1 bag (10–12 oz / ~300 g) peanut butter chips
- 2 packages (each 16 oz / 454 g) almond bark or white candy melts, broken into chunks
- Optional toppings:
- Crushed candy canes
- Holiday sprinkles
- Sea salt
- Mini marshmallows
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Crockpot
Lightly spray the inside of your slow cooker with nonstick spray or line it with parchment. This keeps the chocolate from sticking and makes cleanup super easy.
2. Add the Peanuts
Pour all the peanuts into the bottom of the crockpot. Spread them evenly — they act as the crunchy base of this candy.
3. Layer the Chocolates
Add the chocolate chips, then the peanut butter chips, and finally the almond bark or white candy melts on top.
Do not stir.
The layering helps the chocolate melt evenly without burning.
4. Cook Low and Slow
Cover and cook on LOW for 1 hour.
After an hour, check the chocolate. It should be starting to melt but keep its shape.
5. Stir Gently
Using a heat-safe spatula, stir everything together until completely melted and smooth.
If chunks remain, cover and cook for another 15–30 minutes, then stir again.
6. Scoop the Clusters
Scoop spoonfuls (tablespoon or cookie scoop size) onto parchment-lined baking sheets or trays.
They will look like little chocolate clusters.
7. Add Festive Toppings (Optional)
Immediately sprinkle with:
- Christmas sprinkles
- Crushed candy canes
- Sea salt
- Mini marshmallows
Before the chocolate sets.
8. Let Them Set
Let the Christmas Crack cool at room temperature for 1–2 hours, or place in the fridge for faster setting.
Storage
- Room temp: up to 2 weeks in an airtight container
- Fridge: stays fresh for 1 month
- Freezer: up to 3 months
Tips for Perfect Christmas Crack
- Using both semi-sweet and milk chocolate gives the best flavor balance.
- Don’t cook on HIGH — it burns the chocolate.
- You can replace peanuts with almonds or cashews.
- For extra crunch, add 2 cups of Rice Krispies at the end before scooping.
