Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy

Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy

Tender, juicy, fall-apart chicken simmered in a rich, creamy gravy — this is the kind of slow-cooker comfort food that makes the whole house smell amazing. With just a few simple ingredients, you get a hearty, soul-warming dinner that tastes like it took hours… because it did — but the crock pot did all the work for you!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet (1 oz) chicken gravy mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional for extra richness)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare Your Crock Pot Base

In the bottom of the slow cooker, add the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, gravy mix, ranch seasoning, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Whisk it together until you have a smooth, creamy mixture.

2. Add the Chicken

Place the chicken breasts or thighs directly into the gravy mixture.
Spoon some of the mixture over the top to coat them well.

3. Add Butter (Optional but Recommended)

Place a small tablespoon of butter on top of the chicken for extra flavor and richness.

4. Slow Cook to Perfection

Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily falls apart.

5. Shred and Mix

Once cooked, shred the chicken using two forks right inside the crock pot.
Stir everything together so the chicken absorbs the creamy gravy.

6. Finish and Serve

Let it cook uncovered for an extra 10 minutes to thicken, if needed.
Sprinkle some parsley on top before serving.
