Baked Italian Sub Sandwiches
Easy • Cheesy • Perfect for Parties
Ingredients:
- 1 large Italian loaf (or 4 sub rolls)
- 12 slices salami
- 8 slices pepperoni
- 8 slices deli ham
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced
- Banana peppers (optional but amazing)
- 2 tbsp softened butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp mayo
- 2 tbsp sub sandwich vinaigrette (or olive oil + vinegar mix)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the bread open but don’t cut all the way through.
- Mix butter + garlic powder + Italian seasoning, then brush inside the bread.
- Layer the meats: salami → pepperoni → ham.
- Add provolone slices and sprinkle mozzarella.
- Add onion, tomato, and banana peppers if you like a kick.
- Spread mayo on the top side of the bread and drizzle a little vinaigrette.
- Close the sandwich and wrap it tightly in foil.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Unwrap, slice, and serve warm.
Tip: Add a little pesto or giardiniera for a fire Italian deli flavor.
