Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars
Ingredients
Base
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (or digestive biscuits)
- ½ cup melted butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
Caramel Layer
- 1 cup soft caramels (or dulce de leche)
- ¼ cup heavy cream
Crunch Layer
- 1½ cups crispy rice cereal (Rice Krispies)
- ½ cup chopped roasted peanuts or almonds (optional)
Chocolate Topping
- 1½ cups milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter
Instructions
- Prepare the base
Mix graham crumbs, melted butter, and brown sugar. Press firmly into a lined 9×9 inch pan. Chill 10 minutes. - Make the caramel
Melt caramels with heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth. - Add the crunch
Stir cereal (and nuts if using) into the warm caramel. Spread evenly over the crust. - Chocolate layer
Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil until smooth. Pour over caramel layer and spread evenly. - Chill & set
Refrigerate 1–2 hours until firm. Cut into bars.
Tips
- For extra crunch: add crushed pretzels.
- For deeper flavor: use dark chocolate.
- Store chilled for clean cuts.
