These classic Christmas Peanut Butter Balls are rich, creamy, and incredibly easy to make. They’re a no-bake holiday favorite, perfect for cookie trays, gift boxes, or festive gatherings. With a smooth peanut butter center and a chocolate coating, they disappear fast!
Ingredients
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter (not natural)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2½ cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening (for smooth chocolate)
Instructions
- Make the Peanut Butter Mixture
In a large bowl, mix the peanut butter and softened butter until smooth and creamy. - Sweeten the Dough
Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix well until a thick, soft dough forms.
If the mixture feels too sticky, add a little more powdered sugar. - Shape the Balls
Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. - Chill
Refrigerate the balls for 30–45 minutes, or until firm. This helps them hold their shape when dipping. - Melt the Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth. - Dip the Balls
Using a fork or toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off. - Set & Serve
Place dipped balls back on the parchment paper. Chill for 15–20 minutes until chocolate is fully set.
Tips & Variations
- Add festive sprinkles before the chocolate sets for a Christmas look.
- Use white chocolate for variety.
