It’s easy, feeds a crowd, and keeps well for days — the perfect snack for holidays, parties, gift bags, or late-night cravings.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups pecan halves (salted pecans make it even better!)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda (helps the glaze foam and coat evenly)

Instructions (Long & Detailed)

1. Prepare your pan

Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
Line a large baking sheet with parchment or foil for easy cleanup.

2. Combine the cereal and pecans

In a giant mixing bowl, add:

  • 8 cups Crispix
  • 2 cups pecan halves

Gently toss so the nuts are spread evenly throughout.

3. Make the caramel praline glaze

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt:

  • ½ cup butter
    Add:
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Stir continuously until the mixture begins to bubble.
Let it boil for 3 minutes, stirring often to avoid burning.

Remove from heat and quickly stir in:

  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp baking soda

The mixture will foam up — this is what makes the coating light and crunchy.

4. Coat the cereal mixture

Immediately pour the hot caramel glaze over your Crispix + pecans.
Use a large spatula to gently fold until everything is coated.
Work quickly — the mixture begins to set as it cools.

5. Bake low & slow

Spread the coated mixture onto your lined baking sheet.
Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to keep everything separate and crunchy.

6. Cool & break apart

Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Break into bite-size clusters.
