Pillsbury Crescent Roll Taco Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade equivalent)
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • Optional toppings:
    • Shredded lettuce
    • Diced tomatoes
    • Sliced black olives
    • Jalapeños
    • Green onions

🔪 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Set to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the beef
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season it
    Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Prepare the crust
    Unroll crescent dough and press it into the bottom of a greased baking dish (8×8 or similar), sealing the seams.
  5. Layer the filling
    Spread the cooked taco meat evenly over the dough.
  6. Add creamy layer
    Mix sour cream and salsa together, then spread over the meat.
  7. Top with cheese
    Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top.
  8. Bake
    Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  9. Cool slightly & serve
    Let sit for 5 minutes before slicing. Add your favorite toppings before serving.

  • Swap ground beef for ground chicken or turkey for a lighter version.
  • Add a layer of refried beans under the meat for extra richness.
  • Spice it up with hot salsa or chili flakes.
  • Use a larger pan for thinner layers and crispier crust.
