Ingredients
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 2–2.5 cm thick)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite kind)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
🔥 Instructions
1. Preheat oven
Set your oven to 200°C (400°F).
2. Prep the chops
Pat pork chops dry with paper towels (helps them brown better).
3. Season
In a small bowl, mix: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Rub both sides of the pork chops with olive oil, then coat evenly with the seasoning mix.
4. Sear (optional but worth it)
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chops for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned. This locks in flavor.
5. Add barbecue goodness
Place chops in a baking dish. Brush generously with barbecue sauce and sprinkle a little brown sugar on top for that sticky glaze.
6. Bake
Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, depending on thickness.
Halfway through, spoon more sauce over the chops.
7. Broil for stickiness
Turn on the broiler for 2–3 minutes at the end to caramelize the sauce (watch closely so it doesn’t burn!).
8. Rest & serve
Let the chops rest for 5 minutes before serving—this keeps them juicy.
