Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) smoked or fresh sausage links
- 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 5–6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for browning)
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp dried thyme (optional)
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
Instructions:
- Brown the sausage (recommended)
In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and brown the sausage on all sides (about 5–7 minutes). This adds extra flavor. - Cook the bacon
Cook bacon until crispy, then crumble and set aside. - Layer in slow cooker
Add diced potatoes, onion, garlic, and most of the bacon to the slow cooker. - Add sausage
Place browned sausages on top. - Season & add liquid
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika. Pour in the chicken broth. - Cook
- LOW: 6–7 hours
- HIGH: 3–4 hours
Until potatoes are tender and sausage is cooked through.
- Finish & serve
Sprinkle remaining bacon on top before serving.
Optional Add-Ins:

- A splash of cream for richness
- Green beans or carrots for extra veggies
