These classic Peanut Butter Balls are rich, creamy, and coated in smooth chocolate. They’re perfect for holidays, gifting, or anytime you want an easy no-bake treat with big flavor.
Ingredients
Peanut Butter Filling
- 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted for best texture)
- 1 cup peanut butter (creamy is best, but crunchy works too)
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted (unsalted preferred)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Coating
- 2–3 cups dipping chocolate (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
You can use chocolate chips, candy melts, or baking chocolate.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare the base
In a large mixing bowl, add the melted butter and vanilla extract. Stir well until fully combined. - Add peanut butter
Add the peanut butter to the bowl and mix until smooth and creamy. Make sure there are no butter streaks. - Incorporate powdered sugar
Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time. Mix well after each addition.
The mixture will become thick and dough-like but still soft. - Adjust texture if needed
- If the mixture is too sticky: add 1–2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- If too dry: add 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- Shape the balls
Scoop about 1 tablespoon of mixture and roll into smooth balls using your hands.
Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. - Freeze to firm
Put the baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes. This helps the balls keep their shape when dipping. - Melt the chocolate
Melt the chocolate using:- Microwave (30-second intervals, stirring each time)
- Or a double boiler on low heat
- Dip the balls
Using a fork or toothpick, dip each frozen peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate.
Let excess chocolate drip off. - Set the chocolate
Place coated balls back on the baking sheet.
Let them set at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results.
